Tuesday morning an agreement was announced between ChargePoint, America’s largest charging network, and FLO, the largest network in Canada.

Researchers at North Carolina State University have built an electric vehicle fast charger that is at least 10 times smaller than existing systems and wastes 60 percent less power during the charging process, without sacrificing the charging time.

Worldwide, about 100,000 electric buses are sold annually, 95% of them in China. In the US, Navigant predicts electric buses will account for only 15% of the market by 2025. Even in China, where national policies strongly favor electric transportation, battery operated buses account for only 70% of the total bus market.

Electric vehicle charging continues to surge, a move that will only hasten the adoption of electric cars and other vehicles such as commercial trucks. ChargePoint, which manages a network of EV charging locations worldwide, has pledged to build out 2½ million public charging ports by 2025, with roughly half of those in North America and half in Europe.

Last week was a very big week for electric vehicles! Every year, hundreds of communities come together for National Drive Electric Week 2018 (NDEW), a week-long celebration consisting of educational events to help raise the visibility of electric vehicles across North America.

Cumulative global EV sales have hit 4 million this week, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Including electric buses, the 4 million mark was reached at the beginning of July.

Electrify America is an Electric Vehicle (EV)  infrastructure company with plans to boost the electric vehicle industry by offering reliable, convenient charging stations nationwide.

This week’s spotlight vehicle is the Chevy Bolt!  At around $37,500, this vehicle has 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque.  The car gets approximately 238 miles on a single charge, making it one of the longest range fully electric vehicles.
