Electric Vehicle charging is not quite the same as combustion engine fueling. Some good experiences, and some bad, but always different.

Year-end market data for the Southeast shows continued growth and national leadership in EV manufacturing investments and jobs. We also see growth in sales, charging station deployment, and public funding, despite our region lagging national averages.

Inside EV’s has released multiple figures illustrating the current trends in the plug in electric vehicle market, including the latest sales from the month of August, and the results are great! The electric car movement is still in full throttle, as the market continues to grow and sales increase.

Cumulative global EV sales have hit 4 million this week, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Including electric buses, the 4 million mark was reached at the beginning of July.

This week’s spotlight vehicle is the Chevy Bolt!  At around $37,500, this vehicle has 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque.  The car gets approximately 238 miles on a single charge, making it one of the longest range fully electric vehicles.

Q2 2018 returned the strongest sales on record for electric vehicles (EV) with 65,585 units sold in the U.S. Nearly 20,000 EVs were sold since last year, an increase of approximately 41 percent year-over-year (y/y)
